Cow, Dogs, and Horses, Oh My!

Hey Everyone!

Yes, I'm back from the dead.

I missed my little bloggy and finally last night decided it was high time I get back in action. I was motivated, after running four miles and walking the block with my neighbor friend, Lauren.

My run was lovely because the weather has been great down here for the past few days. And it felt so good to get the go-sticks feelin' all loosey-goosey again! I must admit that I had fallen off the exercise wagon for some time now!

But the other day, I was in Target and saw this (cue the 'Jaws' theme song):Talk about motivation. Ugh.

So I did four slow miles after work. It took me about 45 minutes, which I expected. I was just glad to work up a sweat for the first time in two weeks!

Okay real quick....can we talk some reality TV among friends?

I am not normally a Dancing With The Stars fan, but now that The Bachelor is over, I have a void in my Monday nights. So last night I caught the premiere of this season's DWTS.

How cute is that Hines Ward?! He totally surprised me by being a good dancer and super light on his feet. And look at that smile...such a button! I am not a Steelers fan, but last night I decided that I'm a Hines Ward fan.

Speaking of The Bachelor, what are our feelings on Emily? I mean, I know she's cute and Southern and blond and adorable and so tiny you could put her in your pocket, but really? She kind of annoyed me on 'After the Final Rose.' She just seemed...curt, and...I don't know what the word is I'm looking for. Entitled or something.

She said it was hard to watch the show, see him with other women, blah blah blah, and that always annoys me. If you're going to go on a show like The Bachelor, be prepared to watch your 'boyfriend' or 'fiance' ACT LIKE A BACHELOR.

Sheesh.

Everyone should just stick with the old fashion tactics of nabbing a husband...go down a slip 'n slide and eat some fried catfish, and six months later you'll wake up engaged to a farmer. Works every time. :)

More stuff about life lately.....

As y'all might remember, we tried to breed Reba last year. Her boyfriend Rascal came to stay with us for a week so that they might fall in love and have beautiful, red-headed, four-legged babies.

No dice. Reba simply wasn't feelin' it, I guess. And I can't say I blame her considering she had only known him for a few short days, and we expected her to let him father her children? What self-respecting gal would let that fly?

No, she was raised better than that.

So we decided to give it another shot about a week ago. Despite lots of persuading from her parents, Reba has decided Rascal is not the guy for her. I tried to pull out all the stops..."He's so handsome." "You're his FIRST girlfriend!" "He comes from a great family." "He makes great money, and he'll always take care of you and fulfill your emotional AND financial needs." Okay so maybe not that last one, but he is really cute and can play a mean game of fetch. While they have an okay time together, I can tell Reba still isn't convinced he's 'the one.' Poor guy follows her around all day and she won't even give him the time of day. I can tell she's annoyed by him, but he is so anamored by her. He just drools all over her! No, like literally.

Drools all over her.

It's gross. They have fun together, but I think Reba had to let him down easy and tell him 'it's not you it's me,' and 'let's just be friends,' because 'I'm just not ready for a relationship right now.' And being the polite girl that she is, she lets him always get the ball first so he'll feel like more of a man. She's just trying to save his ego after being dumped and all. See....Reba is so mature that she can still go out for a drink with an ex. So proud of my girl.

In more animal-related news....

I visited my good friend Jan on Sunday who lives on an awesome farm out in....I can't remember where...somewhere near the Middle of Nowhere. It was a gorgeous day, and we had some great fellowship and food. I, of course, loved being around all her adorable animals! These are not Jan's cows, but I stopped to say hello to them on the drive to her house. There were babies, but they ran from me. :( Brody the Golden Retriever, whom I love for obvious reasons. Brody has a very hard life. As you can see, he is constantly neglected and ignored. Jan also has some beautiful horses! They were very patient with me, and loved posing for pictures. Such sweet creatures! I love this vibrant shot of her barn door...such a cool backdrop, yes?

Jan also has MINIATURE HORSES....so cool, right? But I am not done editing those pictures yet.

We spent the day with some great new friends out at Jan's house. However, I did not post any pics of people because I forgot to mention the blog, and get permission to post their pictures, and their children's pictures, on the internets.

Have a great week, everyone!
